One of our areas of expertise
A number of different legal issues arise in conjunction with both major and minor building projects. We have extensive experience of handling legal matters in different types of building project. We also have broad experience of not only the Swedish Planning & Building Act, but also the Environmental Code, the Property Registration Act, etc., and of regulations and directives that determine how land may be developed, and of the rights and obligations that ensue from construction work.
Issues in connection with building law can arise in conjunction with newbuilds, extensions, and alterations to existing buildings. Legal issues can also arise in relation to the sphere of use of a building or in relation to construction alterations, e.g. in connection with the construction of a balcony.
And not only can legal issues arise in relation to how land may be developed and utilised in relation to municipalities, neighbours, and official bodies, questions of liability can also arise in relation to damage and disruption due to construction projects and become relevant in relation to both the public and the private sector.
The need for advice on building law can, furthermore, arise during an initial phase, before the construction project has started, or at a much later phase when the construction work is completed. The advice can hence be both preventative and problem-solving. We adapt our advice in line with the client’s needs, which may involve us helping with a single issue, providing ongoing advice over an extended period of time, or acting as assistants during disputes.
We understand the importance of conveying complex legal issues to our clients in an easily accessible and comprehensible manner. For us, there is no such thing as a stupid question, and we can provide answers and explain issues to inexperienced private individuals with the same clarity as we can investigate comprehensive and complex building law issues on behalf of big companies in the property and construction industry.
